A Vision: "Flip the Hand"
As I was spending time with the Lord this morning, I saw a hand and upon the fingers of the hand were written the five-fold ministry giftings. The hand was palm-down and underneath the hand were a group of people I understood instinctively to be the church. It was as though the hand was trying to act as a covering for the people and I heard the Lord say, “Flip the hand.” As He said this, the hand of the five-fold moved from being over the people of the church to under the people of the church. When the hand was positioned properly under the people, the people were lifted up towards heaven and began to grow and mature in the things of God. What I believe the Lord was showing me was that He was going to return the five-fold ministry giftings back to their original position - that of edifying and lifting up the Body of Christ, so that maturity can come forth. I think it’s important to note that as the people matured and were lifted up, so the five-fold ministries were, as well. Also, this movement was a fluid movement, not difficult at all, but unified, not one finger above another. The lifting of the hand itself was not fast, but steady in pace and intentional in its direction up toward God, all as an offering of worship to Him. Again, as the hand moved position, the people were not inclined to step out of the hand, because there was upward movement and increasing proximity towards the Lord, where previously people were stepping out from beneath the hand. If you’re a part of the five-fold ministry, let’s together and in one accord act on the Word of the Lord and be intentional about undergirding and serving His Church.
Eph. 4:11-15, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ…”NKJV
