Fashioned for the Finish
Persistence is required if you are to finish your race well. This is a long-distance race that takes you through desert places as well as the valley. If you are to complete this marathon, you must not only learn to pace yourself but to cast away all thoughts of quitting, whether in the dry place or camping in the serene. Think about what is true and of good report. I will lead you through to victory if you choose to persist even in the face of adversity. Remember that I am with you through it all, and I determined this race for you alone. I have trained you and given you the endurance necessary, for you’ve been fashioned for the finish, being made in the likeness of My image. Do you hear Me cheering you on to triumph? You started well, now continue towards the finish – that is what matters in the end – that you complete your race.
Heb. 12:1-2, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
