Fishers of Men

If you would be fishers of men, you must be willing to enter the deep waters and traverse the hidden depths of My Word. There are those that have been fishing from the shore, but I desire that you cast out upon the sea, moving further from the safety of the sand beneath your feet. Do not fear – I am with you. If you faithfully search the depths of Me, I will cause you to have to use nets to bring in those searching for Truth, for there are many seeking what you have – Me. It requires you to use boats that have no holes, nets that will not break, and risk the storms that will arise so far from shore. Remember that I am the God who is at rest even in the worst tempests. If you would see souls won for Me, you must take the step to push away from where you’ve been and, at My Word, cast out the net.

Luke 5:4-11, “When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.’ Simon answered, ‘We’ve worked hard all night long, Rabbi, and haven’t caught a thing! But if you say so, I’ll let down the nets.’ They did this and took in so many fish that their nets began to tear. So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them; and they came and filled both boats to the point of sinking. When he saw this, Simon Peter fell at Jesus’ knees and said, ‘Get away from me, sir, because I’m a sinner!’ For astonishment had seized him and everyone with him at the catch of fish they had taken, and likewise both James and John, Simon’s partners. ‘Don’t be frightened,’ Jesus said to Simon, ‘from now on you will be catching men – alive!’ And as soon as they had beached their boats, they left everything behind and followed him.” CJB
