Guard Both Heart and Mouth

Setting a guard over your mouth begins by placing a sentry over your heart. Many have prayed that My Holy Spirit would watch their mouths, while in their hearts they are still holding onto resentment, bitterness, and unrighteous anger. The heart is the gateway to the tongue – out of its abundance, your mouth will speak. Therefore, guard your heart if you would watch your mouth, for it is the wellspring of life, and if it is poisoned what will come forth cannot bring life, but only death. Once such poison is spewed, it cannot be retracted. Align your heart with Mine, and your tongue will follow. When others say hurtful things, look for the source and you will find that it is not a judgment against your heart, but against their own. Be wise in this, My child, for I am looking at your heart and listening to your words, as is the world.

Prov. 4:23-24, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth and put perverse lips far from you.” NKJV
