Mary Bowed to His Will, Day 5
Reading, Luke 1:26-38
Mary was perplexed and pondering. What woman wouldn't be, given an angel had just declared her favored by the Lord, and that favor would grant her the privilege of carrying the Son of God. Her question: “How?” She’s never known a man. The answer: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.” Mary responds by declaring herself the bondslave of the Lord, ready to do His will. It’s easy to imagine Mary, as a young girl, recalling Psalm 40:8, which states, “I delight to do Your will, O my God.”
We all need to understand this point. God is not afraid of your questions. He has the answer because He is the Creator of the mind that formed the question. God doesn’t require your complete understanding of His methods or even of His Person for you to make an impact in the Kingdom. He desires your willingness.

Mary may not have fully understood the how, but she fully trusted the Who. If you're perplexed or confused and don't understand everything God is doing, rest in Him, Who is working all things together for good. Mary was bowing to His will.
