Reflections at Christmas 11

John 1:16-17, “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Christ has withheld nothing. Freely He has given of all of Himself to all of us. He has not hidden His Light, blocked the Way, or withdrawn His Word. Rather He revealed Himself and the Father, and our brokenness is healed in His wholeness. In accepting His gift and this revelation, we are able to not only see His grace but become partakers of it and His nature.

He is the fulfillment of all He previously spoke to and through Moses, and in its completion enables us to reconcile with the Father and overcome the sin that so easily besets us. In Him, we see the types and shadows of the old, lived out in the new. It is the story of love lost and found at a staggering cost.

His redemptive, amazing grace! It is a sweet sound, not clamoring or ringing, but gentle. It whispers His blessed assurance, allowing us to peacefully rest in our Father’s arms, free of sin’s dictates, enabled with power, gloriously loved!
