Sacrifice Your Promise
Are you willing to sacrifice your promise for My Person? As Abraham was willing to sacrifice Isaac, so too, must you place the promise I gave you on the altar. Your inheritance is indeed great, but relationship with the Father, the Promise Giver, transcends it all. Apart from Me, the promise means nothing. Just as the prodigal son chose to demand the father’s promised inheritance and then came to ruin, many of My people are demanding My promises outside of their proper time. Many, too, are those like the elder son, who focused on increasing his inheritance by work and never stepped into the fullness of his position in the father. Be wise. The father released the son’s inheritance, even at the risk of losing his son, though the father watched diligently every day for his return. The father longed to give the elder anything he asked, but the son never stopped to bask in the depth and breadth of his father’s love. Neither son won, for the true inheritance was relationship with the father. Unclasp your hands and release even what I have promised and, in relationship with Me, you will find everything you need.
Gen. 22:1-19, Luke 15:11-32, 2 Cor. 1:20-22, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” NKJV
